Anne L. Weintraub is a shareholder and founding member of the Sarasota-based law firm of Band Weintraub, P.L. Ms. Weintraub focuses her practice on real property closings, title insurance and foreclosure avoidance. She also assists clients with short sales, loan modifications, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure, purchases of bank-owned properties and negotiations with lenders.

Ms. Weintraub has conducted thousands of residential closings over the years, but believes each client and realtor has unique needs and wants in their respective transactions. She and her team of experienced legal assistants are well-known for their commitment to clients, which includes exceptional service, zealous advocacy, and treating each client with special and individualized attention. Even on weekends, holidays, or after-hours, Ms. Weintraub is available to her clients and realtors to help them attain their goals.

A prominent advocate for homeowners in Southwest Florida, Ms. Weintraub is frequently called upon to speak at public forums. She appears weekly on “Foreclosure Talk with Anne Weintraub” on WWSB ABC-7 news and writes regular columns for Florida Realtor. In August of 2011, Ms. Weintraub was interviewed and quoted in Barron’s magazine for an article on Southwest Florida real estate.

Ms. Weintraub was instrumental in implementing Circuit Court Chief Judge Lee Haworth’s precedent-setting Homestead Conciliatory Program in 2008, which required lenders to attempt to meet and speak with homeowners before proceeding with a foreclosure. She wrote the Homestead Conciliatory consumer handbook for the 12th Judicial Circuit, and recorded video information for homeowners in Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties.

Ms. Weintraub is currently a member of Stetson University College of Law Board of Overseers. She serves on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota County and was recently appointed to the University of South Florida Community Leadership Council. Ms. Weintraub has been interviewed for her sound advice on real estate and the foreclosure crisis by several Southwest Florida newspapers such as the New York Times-owned Sarasota Herald-Tribune and Tampa Bay Business Journal, as well as National Public Radio and the Associated Press. In 2008, Sarasota magazine’s business publication Biz (941), named Weintraub one of its “Top 25 People to Watch.”
